Tech Tip Search Twitter to See What is Happening
Twitter is the newest old thing, at 3 years young. Over the last few months this micro-blogging service appears in the news daily. People who use Twitter post a comment, or tweet, and are scooping news organizations on a regular basis. While you need to consider the source and confirm the news, Twitter is often the first place breaking news and photos appear. When US Airways Flight 1549 went into the Hudson River in January, the first photos appeared on Twitter. The recent Iran protest news came mostly from the Iranians who could post their comments on Twitter, as regular journalists could not report. News and gossip both show up on Twitter. You can search Twitter at http://search.twitter.com/. This search site also posts the trending topics, which, as I write this, are all about Michael Jacksons death. Give this search a try when you want to quickly se e what is happening.

Blog Post of the Month - Washington Real Property Desk book
KCLL
Klues, our Washington state research blog, keeps you apprised of
interesting legal news and great research links. Sign up for the RSS feed. Kim, one of our reference librarians, posted this question on the blog last month.
Recently, a patron who is on probation and is moving to California wanted to know more about something called the Interstate Compact. I was pleased to find a website (www.interstatecompact.org) all about this topic. The full name is the Interstate Commission for Adult Offender Supervision (ICAOS). The website is chock full of information, including rules, a knowledge base, forms and advisory opinions. There is also information for each state that has adopted the Compact and a link to the enacting statute for the state. For Washington, that is RCW 9.94A.745.
